Well im not quite sure how it happened since i havent spoken with Tom but i managed to get my hands on 4 more tracks which have been added to thebears.dmusic.com 3 of them are live tracks including one of my personal favorites bamboo fever in which Philo (the very same man from blubat) raps for about 5 minutes accompanied by mad funk rock. Oh MAN! He also busts out some nice saxomophone. In any case also added was the studio recorded version of chesterfield nickel. I am amazed at the transition of this song. the skeleton, or the jam version of the song can be found here at blubat but its quite nice to see it transform into something solid. Though personally the energy and anticipation the crowd has at the show waiting to hear chesterfield live and the intencity in which the bears play that song can never be matched in a recording

Anyways head on over,

July 9th or something
P.S a couple new pics added, too bad the gif isnt working properly.
I've lost track of time, mainly since i wake at 12pm and go to sleep at around 5 am, i hate it, but in a way its fairly nice. By the time i get out of the house the hottest part of the day is done with, however ive missed the best part of the day the morning. I end up being awake when everyone is asleep which is nice because i can walk the fog filled streets with no a single person around, just blasting that halaka goodness on my ipod. In any case this has completely sidetracked the original reason why i wanted to post.
So here is the actual news to report. Tom has gone back to ottawa to enjoy the Blues festival and go see wilco, broken social scene and some classical rock band which i have forgotten the name. The only reason im really mentioning this is because he failed to send me the Bears tracks i was going to upload. GOODJOB TOM I LOVE YOU BUDDY. I bought my Nofx ticket, as they are coming to my city August 14th, it really is a dream come true, for those of you who dont know im a GIGANTIC nofx fan. Though my interest in them has tapered as they're interest in politics has increased, I am just tired of it.
I've decided with this enormous amount of free time to come back, postwhore, get back to commenting on loads of music and hopefully getting some most excellent tracks from all of you. Please drop me a shout if you have a new song/collab/ or anything.

Blubat has now been officially renamed to "The Bears". Ive now assumed the role of roadie and hope to participate in as much activities at the band will let me. As it stands the band is currently working on new material which will be a more diverse sound then previously recorded. Also the band has played 2 shows in the last month both very successful, possible uploads coming. Recording of new tracks with the full band is planned and hopefully will happen soonner rather then later.

The band is now basically living together and have a great basement studio set up. Hopefully some new stuff should be coming out, but possibly one of them could post an update

And the band plays on behind closed doors for the time being. As discussed in late September, weekly practices are held at Greg's house every Tuesday at noon. Some members of the band choose not to show while others rock out new ideas and practice new instruments. With a high tech instrument now in the mix, a full layered keyboard track has been added to the band's music downloads page, so be sure to check that out hey!
Werd for now, catch this rizzle on the flip-tizzle.

So we are all settled now, some heavy jam sessions and buskering happens every now and then. We have started to rfecord once again. We confirmed a drummer and along with him came his ex bandmates, a violinist and a female singer/guitarist. Tom has started laying down some tracks. We made 50$ buskering in 3 hours. everything is going well.

Yay!!! We’ve been nominated! What an honor. Ok ok I knew about this awhile ago but still its exciting to know that in fact you have been nominated. Too bad we are up against the song I personally nominated and wanted to win.

damn I love something fantastic (hey ernie) by Halaka. GO VOTE FOR HALAKA NOW! Anyways it’s a really good group of songs for the “other” category so listen to them all. A lot of people I voted for got nominated which is happy!
Best of luck everyone!

So blubat is basically 5 weeks away from being a full fledged band. As I am now joining Phil and Tom in Halifax at the highly acclaimed Dalhousie University, we will have lots of time to make music and more importantly, perform. We plan on hitting up every joel plaskett emergency show possible while hes down there and try to get him to let us open for him. We now have a new guitarist J.P. an old friend of tom’s who he randomly met again at university. This means tom will be moving to bass to simplify his singing, however they will most likely alternate. Phil moves off the skins and goes back to his native position on guitar. We have managed to steal an awesome drummer from the ex band Bluevan (ironically enough). I will be performing on some vocals, the jawharp, the harmonica, and any other weird instrument we can find. We are all very excited for what we think is going ot be a really awesome year musically. In the meantime while Phil is still away at camp tom and I are currently working a song where every line starts and ends with a word randomly generated off one of those internet sites. The lyrics are pretty messed but it works! The guitar is recorded we just have to do the vocals.
Ill let you all know when its ready!
On a side note ive been pouring my life and soul into Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, the best video game on the face of the earth. We lost on Monday in the playoffs. I cried.
